Anna Wilard from the Guardian reports on Thursday’s meeting between European ministers in Paris
I somehow have my doubts after only reading the first sentence: “European Union finance ministers meet at France’s request on Thursday to take stock of measures to avert further financial crises of the kind that has sunk much of the world into recession.” Ar they clowns? The global economic crisis has been in the making for years if not for the last decade or two (depending on what country you look at).
I mean seriously, the Madoff scandal involving a giant Ponzy Scheme where $50 billion were defrauded from [mainly] institutional investors wasn’t something that happened over night. The scam built up over nearly a decade. So I am keen on being enlightened as to what these EU ministers are planning. Perhaps they should be digging instead of planning! Finding other big “flaws” and hidden “scams” before it’s too late.
One really can only wonder and the following statement which was highlighted in Anna Wilard’s report goes to point out something quite ironic: “I didn’t call my colleagues to a meeting so that they could come and do their Christmas shopping tomorrow morning — but of course if they want to do that, that’s perfect, it’s very very good for the economy,” she quipped.”, French Economy Minister Christine Lagarde told news reporters.
You know what Freud said about joke’s right?
