Germany Finance District FrankfurtGerman chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday that they are currently beefing up their effort to recover from a financial crisis that has put other nations’ eyes on Germany. Germany has slowly become one of the most indebted among European countries.

The German government has been criticized by economic experts for delaying the approval and implementation of a rescue plan. According to experts, the rescue plan should have been launched several months before the crisis.

Meanwhile, Angel Gurria of the Paris-based Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development said over the radio that they should have tried to intervene several months ago since time has been wasted on inaction of the authorities.

On the other hand, some government officials and public finance specialists have stood up to defend Merkel claiming that she is actually on solid ground.

Merkel has recently manifested the urgency of actions on the debt crisis in the country claiming that there is an apparent need to speed up the negotiations between the Greek government, European Commission, and International Monetary Fund.
