The International Monetary Fund (IMF) could place toxic debt at $4 trillion by 2010, according to international media reports on Tuesday.
The $4 trillion forecasted by the IMF, includes the approximately $3 trillion in the United States and the remainder in Europe and Asia.
The IMF said in January that it expected the deterioration in U.S.-originated assets to reach $2.2 trillion by the end of next year. These figures are now set to be raised.
