According to recent reports by Press TV a Jordanian weekly says Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency has failed in an attempt to assassinate Turkey’s PM Recep Erdogan.
Various other reports suggest that Israel has been inciting violence inside Turkey by providing assistance to the militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) based on a think tank’s allegations that Mossad agents and Israeli military retirees had been sighted providing training to PKK militants in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Turkish-Israeli ties have been at their worst in years, since the Israeli attack on a Gaza-bound flotilla that led to the dead of 9 Turkish citizens on May 31, leading Turkey to draw up a roadmap to “completely” break all ties with the Jewish state.
According to the sources, the assassination attempt intended to take attention from the Gaza Flotilla disaster as well as to paralize and confuse Turkish leadership.
