Apple secretly slashed 1600 retail jobsAccording to an SEC filing, the company’s retail locations had 14,000 full-time employees at the end of the second quarter, a 1,600 drop from the previous quarter. While the company’s revenue grew more than 8% year over year, the average revenue per store decline 17%, falling to $5.9 million from $7.1 million in 2008.

So did Apple lay off 1,600 employees or not? There is speculation that Apple did let go 1,600 employees and not just shift workers to part-time status.
