According to state media reports, Fidel Castro, former leader of Cuba is set to address the country’s National Assembly on Saturday 7th August to warn of an imminent nuclear war involving the U.S., Israel and Iran.
The former leader had formally requested a “meeting of the National Assembly… to explain all of the information… gathered on this.”
Castro urged U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday to avoid a nuclear clash, warning in an article on CubaDebate.cu that the threat was “now virtually inevitable.”
“I understand that I cannot expect, nor would you give me a quick response. Think about it, consult with your experts, listen to the opinion on the matter from your most powerful international allies and adversaries,” Castro said in his article “A Request to the United States President.”
Fidel Castro warned of the threat of nuclear war at the beginning of July, when he stated that “The empire is about to commit a priceless error and nothing can stop it.” referring to the growing buildup of military force around Iran.
The former Cuban leader who turns 84 on August 13th reappeared in the spotlight on July 7th after four years out of power after suffering from health problems.
